About me

Software developer,
builder, and curious human.

I'm Tanish, a software developer from India. I spend most of my time building products, thinking about systems, and trying to understand why things work the way they do.

A little context

I started out simply wanting to build things. Over time that turned into a fascination with what happens underneath the interface — how applications communicate, how databases behave, how systems scale, and what happens when something inevitably breaks.

These days, system design is probably the part of software engineering I enjoy the most. I like taking a messy problem, breaking it into smaller pieces, and figuring out how those pieces should work together.

My usual stack is Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and MySQL, but I'm not particularly attached to a specific stack. The problem usually determines the tools.

I build products

I'm a founding member of Duddy.io and Dotix.io. They started as side hustles and became places where I get to turn ideas into actual software.

I like experimenting

AI, new developer tools, system architecture, random ideas, and things I probably don't need to build. If there's something I don't understand, there's a good chance I'll try building it.

I run things

I enjoy the infrastructure side of software too. Servers, Linux, Nginx, networking, security, deployments, and figuring out why a service decided to stop working at 3 AM.

The home lab

I have an old Lenovo laptop running Ubuntu CLI as a home server. It's where I experiment with infrastructure, Docker, networking, deployments, and whatever I'm curious about at the time.

How I think about building

“Build the simplest thing that solves the problem, then make it better when reality tells you to.”

I prefer learning by building. A lot of what I know about systems, infrastructure, and engineering came from things breaking, projects growing beyond their original design, and having to figure out what to do next.

The GitHub situation

My GitHub is basically a graveyard of experimental and hobby projects. Some survived, some didn't, and some probably shouldn't have been started in the first place.
