What It Is

Leadstor is an all-in-one lead management and operational CRM tailored specifically for educational institutions, training centers, and coaching academies.

Education institutes face distinct operational hurdles that generic sales CRMs like HubSpot or Salesforce don't solve well: handling high-volume student inquiries from multiple advertising channels, tracking counseling sessions, managing document verification, scheduling training batches, and recording installment fee payments.

Originally constructed as a legacy PHP and Bootstrap application, Leadstor needed major modernization to deliver a fast, responsive user interface and support larger institute customer bases.

What It Does

• Multi-Channel Lead Ingestion: Centralizes inquiries captured from Facebook Lead Ads, Google Ads, website landing pages, and WhatsApp webhooks into a unified inbound pipeline.
• Student Admissions & Fee Tracking: Tracks converted students through course enrollment, fee structures, partial installment payments, and invoice generation.
• Batch & Attendance Scheduling: Enables institutes to organize training schedules, assign instructors, manage syllabus milestones, and track student attendance.
• Automated Communication: Dispatches WhatsApp and email notifications for counseling updates, payment reminders, and class schedules.

Architecture & My Contribution

I led the technical modernization of Leadstor while ensuring continuous uptime for existing institutes:

1. Frontend Modernization (Next.js & React):

   • Transformed the legacy server-rendered PHP and Bootstrap interface into a clean, modern Next.js and React frontend.
   • Built interactive dashboards, lead pipeline kanbans, and batch management tables with responsive Tailwind CSS components.

2. Backend Optimization & API Integration:

   • Maintained, optimized, and connected the existing PHP backend services with the new frontend via structured REST APIs.
   • Improved database queries in MySQL for complex lead filtering and student report exports.

3. Multi-Channel Webhook Handlers:

   • Strengthened webhook ingestion pipelines to reliably capture student inquiries from ad platforms and forms without dropping entries during traffic peaks.

Key Learnings & Takeaways

Modernizing legacy applications while businesses actively use them is one of the most practical engineering challenges. Rather than forcing a high-risk full rewrite from scratch, incrementally upgrading the user-facing interface to Next.js while stabilizing the underlying PHP backend delivered immediate performance and UX improvements with zero downtime for institutes.
